Meito Junction gets set for CD release

Okay, it’s getting close, and I know there has been a few different dates up to now, but we’re finally getting things about ready.

Your patience has been much appreciated! After starting rehearsals last summer a few Sunday afternoons a month, since all of us have some strange schedules and getting everyone together for rehearsals and finally for the recording sessions proved a little more difficult than we’d thought.

We’re working on the last of the mixing now, all songs for this CD have been recorded, just a little final tweaking.

Here’s who’s on the recording:

Allen Williams — guitar and vocals
Byron Peterson — banjo, mandolin, vocals
“Jimmy” Jinushi — guitar
Yoshiharu “Yoshi” Masuda — acoustic bass
William Matheny — mandolin, bass guitar, vocals

This CD titled “Sunday Sessions” will contain a whopping 15 tracks, just under 40 minutes of music.

Tracks on this CD include:

Softly and Tenderly
Family of God
Do Lord (This Little Light of Mine)
Peace Like a River
He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands
In the Garden
Mountain Railway
I’ll Fly Away
Power in the Blood
Nearer My God to Thee
Will the Circle Be Unbroken
Just a Closer Walk With Thee
Gospel Medley – Amazing Grace, Crying Holy, Thank You Jesus
I Love to Tell the Story
What a Friend We Have in Jesus

While some of those are standard hymns, we’ve put a decidedly bluegrass twist to them.

Stay tuned for more updates, photos, a few clips and samples and the official announcement of the release and where you can get your own copy of “Sunday Sessions”

Note: proceeds from CD sales will go to support Meito Christ International Church in Nagoya, Japan (where we spend a lot of our time playing music together and where these recordings were made.

Byron, of course, that and a fair amount of other stuff is in the works. Just wanted to get things started for now so we can add things and have a place that’s easy to reach for people wanting information about Meito Junction, the music, cd etc.
